The ATHE Level 4 IT and Computing course is made up of four core units and two elective units with six written assignments at each level. On completion of the units, students will be given access to the assignments. The assignments are approximately 5,000-8,000 words each.
The purpose of the qualifications is to provide learners with the technical skills and knowledge needed to work in the information technology (IT) industry.
The rationale for the qualification is that it provides a career path for learners who wish to develop a broad base of knowledge and skills that will enable them to work in a variety of roles in the IT industry, notably in Java programming, website design or PC maintenance. The technical skills and knowledge delivered through the successful achievement of the qualification are required and recognised internationally.
The Level 4 units and assignments of this course are equivalent to the first year of a University Degree. Our Level 4 IT and Computing course is a 120-credit course, it includes four core units and two elective units and written assignments at each level.
While completing the course, students will have access to a variety of support services, including Tutor Support and Webinars, a Community Learning Forum, and additional materials to help in the completion of their Diploma course.
Demonstrated some ability and possess qualifications at Level 3, for example ‘A’ Levels or vocational awards.
Spent some time in an organisational role and shown they have capability and drive to develop.
Seeking further professional development and to gain work related skills and know-how.
As an online learner, you’ll also need a suitable computer with internet connection, together with sufficient IT competence to make effective use of word processing, internet and email.
To complete the Level 4 Diploma in Information Technology (IT), it will take 10 months. Every month, the student will be required to complete one assignment.
